Group staging silent tribute to honor legacy of MLK

The Daily News reports, “An assassin’s bullet, fired at 7:01 p.m. EST April 4, 1968, ended the life of preacher and civil-rights activist Martin Luther King Jr., adding fuel to his call for universal peace and justice. Forty years later, King’s life, death and work will be memorialized during 40 seconds of silence tomorrow at Franklin Square Park, 6th and Arch streets, in the shadow of Benjamin Franklin Bridge.”
