Philly's News Source for Non-Profits

City Prosper is a new website that seeks to inform and strengthen Philadelphia’s non-profit community by providing news, research, and commentary on local issues. Here, you'll find:

Aggregated news from online newspapers and websites.

Original articles about non-profit issues and events that other sources missed.

Commentary from academics and practitioners working in Philadelphia's non-profit sector.

Reports and studies about Philadelphia issues.

We hope our information allows you to make better decisions in your community and inspires you to take action on important issues. Our goal is to become Philadelphia’s news source for non-profits and concerned citizens. Enjoy.

Only the Important Articles

Let us save you some time.

Every day, we search through roughly twenty news sources to find all the articles impacting your work.

We find about ten to fifteen articles a day, link to them for your connivence, and archive them for future reference. We'll even keep you up with state and federal issues affecting your work.

Make City Prosper the first thing you read in the morning. Subscribing to our RSS feed or eNews list only makes it easier for you.

Expanding Philly's Non-Profit Coverage

We cover any news or events about Philadelphia non-profits that the major papers miss or don't have room for.

Our goal is to expand the coverage of non-profit issues and organizations in Philadelphia--not compete with the papers.

So please, send us your press releases with our contact page. We'd love to cover your event or announcement.

Commentary From Your Peers

We offer weekly commentaries from Philadelphia-based academics and practitioners working in the non-profit sector.

Our hope is that City Prosper becomes a vibrant forum for discussion about ideas, policy, and practice that involves your work.

Let us know if you're interested in writing opinion pieces for us on a regular basis. We won't pressure you with deadlines or quotas. We only suggest you submit an entry every three months.

Important Reports and Studies

Let us display your reports and studies.

Too often, dozens of important findings go unread because there's no centralized forum. Here, you'll be able to find reports by students on issues that impact your work.

We have partnered with IssueLab to provide Philadelphia-focused research. If you represent a non-profit organization or university research center and have research to share, create a free account at IssueLab, and add your research to the IssueLab archive. It will automatically be included here as well as on IssueLab's website, RSS news feeds, e-newsletters, and other content partner sites.
